Today was somewhat eventful. It was warm enough for me to leave the house in a dress without tights and a coat. I made it to the 1st service of church and the message was very moving. I had heard the message of the prodigal son many times but today the pastor approached this parable from a different perspective. I was also moved by a young man’s testimony who strayed from God and lived a life of evil and rebellion (selling drugs, shooting at people, fighting etc. He said he had been running from God but kept being called back. He spoke of God’s grace and how grace changed him. So when the pastor announced that anyone could be baptized immediately after service, I decided to submit to the voice I kept hearing in my ear and to the feeling in my heart.
I’m excited about reaffirming my commitment to a spiritual mind and life and when the associate pastor asked why I wanted to be baptized I simply said:
“Because I love Jesus”
I spent time after church getting a few items from Target. It was quiet and peaceful and I took advantage of the time to peruse. I threw items from the dollar section in my basket along with some intimate apparel pieces, makeup and organic juices.
I decided to try a Green smoothie at Starbucks in Target. The celery taste was prominent. It was a bunch of green veggies, mango purée and plain Greek yogurt. It wasn’t too sweet and it definitely had a cleansing effect.
I made it to my group meeting and ended up talking business strategy and investment opportunities with a classmate. Finally, I had some much needed girl time with my friend and mentee. She is so creative and loves doing nails so I had her fix the terrible paint job I did yesterday. This metallic silver color is amazing.
She did an awesome job. My night was full of chatting with my Soror and watching the bible movie on NBC. I stumbled in the door around 9:30 and immediately began cooking for the week.
This spinach casserole turned out amazing. Comment below if you want the recipe.
