Natural Hair and Other Kinky Stuff

Natural Hair: Chunky Flat Twist Out

****Written in Early December*******

As my loyal readers know, I decided to take my sew in out and unleash my kinks. The Suave Milk conditioner has done my strands some good. That combined with olive oil, african pride curl pudding and little bit of gel has allowed me to play around with twist outs.

After taking down my protective style, I washed my hair with black soap, lathered on the conditioner to fully detangle and then applied the aforementioned products. I created about 6 chunky twists and allowed them to dry overnight. The back twists wouldn’t dry completely so I untwisted them partially to allow them to dry. Once they were 98% dry I retwisted them to coax my curls and to stretch that section of hair, which is more coarse than other areas of my hair.

I’m actually feeling this twist out and the quickness of the style. The fact that it only took about 10 minutes to do all of the twists is a blessing to a girl in demanding career or academic program.

I can retwist at night at when I want more definition or vary the size of the twists to create different looks.
